Ravens vs. Colts: Highlights and Past Stats

Week 9

Line: Indianapolis -1

Over/Under: 48

Result: Ravens 24, Colts 10

The Baltimore Ravens (BAL) visited the Indianapolis Colts (IND) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore faced the Colts with a 5-2 overall record and 3-0 road record. Last week, the Ravens lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a close game 28-24.

Baltimore still managed to outgain Pittsburgh in total yards 457-221.

QB Lamar Jackson passed for 208 yards while tossing two touchdowns and two interceptions. The AFC North QB was aiming for 65+ rushing yards in this third consecutive game.

Meanwhile, J.K. Dobbins rushed for a career-high 113 yards, ranking fifth among NFL rookies with 267 yards on the ground.

Gus Edwards also had a big game, rushing for a season-high 87 yards and one TD versus the Steelers. It was the second consecutive game he scored.

Mark Ingram missed his second game in a row due to an ankle injury, which required the other RBs to handle the rushing workload.

On the other side of the ball, the Ravens defense topped the NFL with 14 forced fumbles. Calais Campbell also had three sacks during his past two games.

In the 2020 season, the only Ravens player to later make the All-Pro team was long snapper Morgan Cox. Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson won the Ravens MVP award.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts entered the game with a 5-2 record and a perfect 3-0 at home. It was tied for first place with the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South.

Indy was going for its third win in a row in the AFC matchup. It was also trying to bounce back after its three-game winning streak ended in Week 8.

The Colts had steamrolled the Detroit Lions 41-21 the week before. Indianapolis QB Philip Rivers passed for 262 yards and three TDs. It was the second game in a row Rivers passed for three TDs.

In NFL Week 8, the rushers included running back Jordan Wilkins, who totaled 113 scrimmage yards and a rushing TD. Nyheim Hines also had 54 receiving yards and a pair of receiving TDs.

Last season, Rivers was one of the top free agency signings with a QB rating of 97.3. He was even ahead of other quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford (Detroit), Lamar Jackson (Baltimore), and Kyler Murray (Arizona).

WR Marquise Brown would possibly get more passing attempts versus Ravens cornerbacks, including Pro Bowler Marlon Humphrey. Brown complained via a Twitter post after playing a minor role in the Colts’ loss to the Steelers.

The Colts defense, including linebackers, was the league’s third-best defense-adjusted value over average (DAVOA). It also ranked 2nd in the NFL in yards allowed per carry at 3.4.

Meanwhile, the Colts defense was also struggling versus the pass. In back-to-back games, they gave up 300+ yards to opposing QBs.

On defense, Darius Leonard had nine tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. The eventual 2020 Wild Card team also ranked first in the NFL with 11 INTs.

Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton was listed on the injury report as doubtful to play in the game.

Ravens vs. Colts: How to Bet on Games

Over/Under: This is a “totals” bet popular in pro leagues like the NBA, MLB, and NFL. It projects the total points both teams score in a game. For example, bettors can pick over or under the Vikings vs. Buccaneers at 51.

Live Betting: You can bet after the game begins and before it ends. For example, you could select Cleveland or Kansas City after the opening kickoff airs on networks like CBS.

Teaser: This multi-leg accumulator bet lets you move point spreads to more favorable betting lines. The main drawback is this betting action lowers the odds of NFL picks.

Parlay: This multi-leg bet requires bettors to win all of the legs to win the whole bet.

Moneyline: You can win this straight-up bet if you correctly pick the NFL game’s winner or loser. For example, you could pick the Houston Texans or the Jacksonville Jaguars in a matchup.

Point Spread: This bet is based on the number of points a football team wins or loses by. A minus sign shows the favorite, and a plus sign shows the underdog.

Proposition Bet: A prop bet lets you bet on an individual play or specific event, although the former bet is more common. For example, bettors can bet whether the Packers or the Raiders will score the game’s first points.
