Washington vs. Eagles: All-Time Series

The Washington-Philadelphia rivalry began in 1934 when WFT played in Boston. The two football teams have met each other 172 times, including one postseason game.

The Eagles have won 79 games, while Washington has won 88. WFT had three Super Bowl championships in 1983, 1988, and 1992. On the other hand, the Eagles had one Super Bowl win in 2018.

The BodyBag Game

The BodyBag Game that happened on November 12, 1990, was an extraordinary moment for Eagles fans. Philly’s defense was so ferocious that they injured nine Washington players that night.

The nine injured players included two WFT quarterbacks on the active roster. The incident resulted in running back Brian Mitchell doing QB duties for the entire fourth quarter.

Aside from the Eagles’ strong defense, the team also scored two defensive touchdowns. Philly’s William Frizzell returned an interception, while his teammate Clyde Simmons returned a fumble.

The fumble led to a touchdown and also an injury to WFT QB Jeff Rutledge. Philadelphia won the game, 24-14.

Carson Wentz’s Amazing Performance

In October 2017, Philly’s Carson Wentz solidified his status as the 2017 MVP front-runner. Philadelphia quickly took the lead in the second half of their matchup with WFT.

Wentz took the NFL by storm and led the Eagles to their 34-24 win against the Washington Football Team. Wentz recorded 17-25, 268 passing yards, four touchdowns, and 63 rushing yards.

How to Bet on the Washington-Eagles Matchups

Point Spread

The point spread is a stake on the margin of victory in a game. A certain number of points will favor the stronger football team, depending on the perceived gap in ability between the two squads.

A minus sign (-) represents the favorite team, while a plus (+) sign represents the underdog.

Bettors predict the football team that will win the matchup outright. If you prefer betting on the game’s winner, go for the moneyline bets.

Over/under or totals bets allow you to predict whether the combined or total scores of both teams will go “under” or “over” the number set by the oddsmaker.

Prop Bet

Prop or novelty bets are stakes based on occurrences during a sporting event. These bets can deal with an individual player’s performance or a team’s milestone.

For example, if you’re rooting for Taylor Heinicke, Chase Young, and Dwayne Haskins of the Washington Football Team, bet on player props.

Parlay and Teaser

If you want to win big, this is where parlays and teasers come into play. A parlay is betting on a combination of results wherein each “leg” has to win for you to receive a payout.

On the other hand, a teaser lets you play two or more games by changing the NFL lines. It allows you to change the point spread to six points.

When betting on the NFL, you must know how to read the lines and how bets work.
