Daytona 500 2010 Betting, Nascar Daytona 500 Racing, Daytona 500 Betting

by SPORTSBETTING.COM staff | April 20 2009

The 2009 NASCAR season gets underway this February 15th when the flag drops on the 51st running of the Daytona 500.

This famous race grabs the attention of not only auto racing fans, but sports fans across the board. And over the years Daytona 500 betting has increased significantly. In fact, betting on NASCAR has gained in popularity right along with the increased TV ratings and attendance that NASCAR has seen over the last decade or more.

It all gets going at The Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, Florida, who along with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway are the two most famous tracks in North America.

The track at Daytona Speedway is 2.5 miles long and is a tri-oval super speedway. The Sprint Cup series winds their way back to Daytona in July for the Pepsi 400.

But this is the Daytona 500, where the drivers and their crew prepare for a 500-mile war against the track and the other teams.

There are several ways to bet on the big race and to bet on all NASCAR races.

For those new to this, here is a quick “How to bet on NASCAR” overview:

First, is the straightforward, “Odds to win the race” wager. This is the most common way to bet on NASCAR races. With this wagering option you simply pick a driver, or drivers who you think will win the race outright, and you make a wager on them.

For example, in 2009 SPORTSBETTING.COM has Dale Earnhardt Jr. listed as the favorite. These odds are presented as such:

Dale Earnhardt Jr: 5 - 1

You can see below the rest of the list of drivers.

You can also wager on whether a driver will finish in the Top 3.

And another entertaining Daytona 500 wager is on the matchups. You can bet who will win between two drivers. For example, once the field is set, you can bet on whether Junior will beat Jeff Gordon, or Jimmie Johnson will beat Kyle Busch, etc.

Start preparing now, as the odds are up. It will be a great weekend of racing and wagering.
