Georgia Tech (6-7, 5-3 ACC) – Despite owning a losing record on the season, Georgia Tech is going bowling. Go figure. Georgia Tech achieved bowl eligibility when they beat Duke 42-24 but they then subsequently folded to No.3 Georgia and No.13 Florida State. Well, folded is a nice way of putting it. They were thumped by No.3 Georgia 42-10 and held off efficiently by Florida State in a 21-15 defeat. Overall, Georgia Tech is 8-5-0 ATS, which includes 5-3-0 ATS at home and 3-2-0 ATS on the road.
USC (7-5, 5-4 Pac-12) – USC finished the season on a two-game skid with back-to-back defeats to ranked opposition – No. 17 UCLA and No. 1 Notre Dame. They lost to UCLA38-28 and to Notre Dame 22-13. In fact, USC took its foot off the pedal in the last five games ever since becoming bowl eligible with a 50-6 win over Colorado they went 1-4 SU. Overall, USC is 3-9-0 ATS, which includes a 3-3-0 ATS at home and a 0-6-0 ATS on the road.
Verdict: The form shown by USC makes one consider that they might be slightly overrated as the -370 faves to win outright. Granted, Georgia Tech, with a losing record on the season, doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence either but when USC is so beatable all bets are off, one would think.
