Baccarat is a sophisticated game that originated in Europe. Players bet on the player, the banker, or a tie. The dealer deals two cards to the player and two cards to the banker. Depending on the value of the hands, a third card may be dealt for each hand. The hand with a total card value closest to nine wins.
How to Play | Rules | Payouts when you win
At the beginning of each hand you must place a bet. The chips you bet appear in the betting area of the baccarat table.
We use a four deck shoe in Baccarat.
No hand receives more than three cards.
When the player's and banker's hands are equal then a tie is declared.
Tens and face cards are worth zero, aces are worth one, and all other cards are worth their face value. If the value of a hand exceeds nine, then as shown below, the value is adjusted by subtracting 10 from the total.
| Hand | Actual value |
|---|---|
| 5 | |
| 8 | |
| Natural 9 | |
| Natural 8 |
After the player and the banker receive their first two cards, a third card is dealt to each if required by the Third Card Rule. The player's hand is always played out first.
The following table explains how to complete the player's hand.

| 6-7 | Stand |
| 8-9 | Stand (Natural) |
After the player's hand is determined, the banker's hand is played out. If the player's hand equals 6 or 7 and the player did not draw a third card, the banker's hand is played out as indicated in Table A. Otherwise the bankers hand is played out as indicated in Table B.
